[Austin, TX] – Hello World CS is excited to announce the launch of three free Earth Day projects designed to engage elementary, middle, and high school students in environmental problem-solving through computer science. These interactive, 1-2 week virtual experiences challenge students to design and program 3D virtual worlds that address key environmental issues, fostering both computational thinking and sustainability awareness.
“Students learn best when they can apply their skills to meaningful, real-world problems,” said Sabina Bharwani, CEO at Hello World CS. “Our Earth Day projects empower students to become creators, not just consumers, using computer science to explore climate solutions in an interactive, engaging way.”
Each project is designed to fit different grade levels while aligning with CSTA and NGSS standards, ensuring a seamless connection to classroom learning.
These Earth Day projects are completely free and available to educators, schools, and after-school programs across the U.S. No prior computer science experience is required, making them accessible to students of all backgrounds.
Hello World CS is committed to expanding equitable access to computer science education while inspiring students to tackle real-world challenges with technology. These Earth Day projects serve as a powerful way to engage young minds in environmental science through creative, hands-on coding experiences.
